Metallo's Inventive Fusion of Concrete and Metal: The Hottest Combination Since Chocolate and Peanut Butter

Share Article

Move over Reeses® Peanut Butter Cups, the hottest combination on the market is concrete and metal. Metallo, a Denver-based company that fuses concrete and metal to create basins, vessel sinks, integral sinks and countertops, has made quite a splash into the Denver market. Already present in prestigious showrooms statewide, the unique sinks are building a reputation for excellence.

Metallo is the result of a collaboration between two Colorado-based companies—Colorado Concrete Concepts, one of the premier providers of custom concrete surfaces such as counter tops and other architectural elements, and Liquid Metal Coatings, a leading provider of metal coating for any and all surfaces. Metallo was born out of a chance meeting between Wendy Scheck, president of Liquid Metal Coatings, and Scott Hild, president of Colorado Concrete Concepts, at a kitchen and bath networking event.

“In all of my travels looking for cutting edge design concepts, I have seen nothing like this,” said Darryl Jones, a sales consultant at Hutter Wholesale regionally recognized for his industry expertise. “Metallo’s fusion of concrete and metal creates a Zen-like combination of art and nature. Design professionals who are looking for a unique centerpiece in a bathroom or kitchen will be drawn to the innovative use of stone, water and metal. Concrete is becoming one of the fastest moving trends in the Kitchen and Bath industry and Metallo’s integration of metal and stone, two of earth’s basic elements, is definitely ahead of its time.”

Each of the hand-crafted and coated sinks is hand polished to a lustrous finish, and receives a high-quality sealer, allowing the metal and concrete to age naturally—a living finish. The initial Metallo Collection offers a number of distinct and elegant metal designs and patterns paired with a variety of concrete colorations.
