Hollywood Gift Giving: T Talk for the not “Sorry” Crowd

Political T-shirts are the latest fashion statements, literally. Those holding on to political angers and frustrations are putting it in full view with, "I'm not sorry" messages...

What might Hollywood Democrats have in common on their holiday wish lists? Along with over 56,000,000 others they just might want to make the latest in political fashion statements: the T-shirt. Florida mental health counselor and stress expert, Ruth M. Cann, believes that Election 2004 has some blatant residual effects that manifest in a syndrome she labels, Political Insanity Stress Disorder (PISD). The inherent need for people to vent political frustrations has made wearable opinions a highly appealing holiday gift for those suffering the effects of election defeat.

Unwilling to let go of intensive emotional investments in Election 2004, the likes of Whoopi, Springsteen, DiCaprio,Sarandon, Barbara, Ben, Sean, and Michael...(Moore,that is) are keeping company with millions of others who are most definitely not thinking lovely thoughts about bumper sticker leftovers and media mentions of the B name. “People are unwilling to let it go because there is constant reinforcement that current practices in Washington do not make sense on any level to those affected,” commented Cann. From Leno to Letterman and far beyond political cartoons and columnists, those suffering from PISD are rubbing reactions in the faces of the other side with blatant statements in full view.

“Venting is healthy and a tell all T-shirt is actually a unique form of relieving stress,“ said Cann. With four more years approaching, Cann has provided an outlet for those who refuse to succumb to can’t beat ‘em join ‘em mentality. “I’m not sorry…ImPISD” is the introduction to a vent-it-here site, replete with T’s to the tone of, “Deep Throat: Where are you when we need you?…for hopefuls. ”4 More Beers”…for those who can’t stand the thought…and “I am one of 56,307,601 suffering from: PISD: Political Insanity Stress Disorder (does not include the missing in action).”

There seems to be no question about Hollywood political ties so, in this case, it is just a matter of size. With Inauguration Day approaching, Cann believes it is a sure bet that a resurgence of half the country’s political emotions will be overtly displayed and the political T will be the "in" attire for a minimum of four more years…
