Hollywood Writer David Marsh Pens New Novel "Into the Abyss", a Deep Sea Adventure Book for Young Readers

A boy sets out to save an advanced underwater race from extinction. What he finds is an adventure that is beyond his wildest dreams.

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) December 9, 2004 -- What if there is an advanced civilization living among us, deep below the sea? A flash storm catches young Ashlyn and his sister Autumn off guard while rowing off the rugged Oregon coast. The two terrified youngsters are drawn into a whirlpool, which seems certain to pull them to their deaths. Suddenly, Ashlyn sees a bright light. Seconds later they awaken ashore, shaken but alive. Was it actually a bioluminescent hand he saw under the boat, pushing them to safety? He begins to hear whispers calling his name. The boy is convinced he has been saved by a higher power, of this or another world. Learn more about this story in David Marshs new book, Into the Abyss.

Mr. Marshs book is already getting media raves. Said Rick Anthony of Hollywood Film Flash": David Marsh has created a masterful and entertaining book with 'Into the Abyss. I recommend it for young and older readers alike."

Joe Mazza of the syndicated radio show The Joe Mazza Show" said: 'Into the Abyss is a book to curl up with as a holiday treat...go out and buy it for your favorite teenager."

Into The Abyss is a rousing, imaginative deep sea adventure of a young heros journey into the unknown. Fascinating escapism for young and adult readers alike, it explores the notion of the existence of intelligent life deep below the sea, a tradition long held by many of the worlds cultures. The creature that befriends Ashlyn and eventually enlists his help embodies the hope and promise of a higher form of life here on earth.

In a world that could be described as Jules Verne meets Ursula K. Guin, David Marsh has mined territory often overlooked by fantasy and science fiction novelists. Yet Into The Abyss is wonderfully accessible and boasts many elements that will prove infectious to readers:

- Young adults will find it easy to identify with Ashlyn, who is coming to grips with losing his mother and feels alone and isolated in the world.
- Fantasy and Sci Fi fans will yearn to learn more about the subterranean species he discovers--the Iquana--which utilize uncanny telepathic abilities.
- More thoughtful readers will enjoy the novels environmental themes, played out in the Iquanas struggle to survive in the earths polluted oceans.

David Marsh, writer and director of good-hearted adventure movies like The Lords of Magick" has fleshed out a novel based on a vivid dream that he had as a boy more than 35 years ago. He dreamt there was a portal to another world at the bottom of a swimming pool that only he could access. From that dream he created a 400-page novel for children of all audiences, especially big ones like myself," says the author.
