Weblogs Inc. Announces the Launch of 63rd Weblog, TheCancerBlog.com

The worlds largest blog publisher releases cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment blog.

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 8, 2004 -- Today, Weblogs Inc., the largest publisher of professional blogs, announced the launch of their 63rd Weblog -- TheCancerBlog, based on recent advances in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Cancer is complex, the treatments are complex and the emotions are complex. I know having as much data as possible was a great help to my family when my mom fought-and won-her battle with cancer," comments Weblogs, Inc. co-founder Jason McCabe Calacanis.

I believe that the most dramatic force-and the force with the most potential for significantly improving the quality and delivery of healthcare services-has been technology, particularly information technology (IT) and telecommunications, including the Internet
TheCancerBlog is launching with two knowledgeable bloggers. Dr. Leonardo Faoro, who was born in Brazil and received his medical degree from Universidade Federal do Paraná (www.ufpr.br), the oldest medical school in Brazil. After graduation, Dr. Faoro moved to Rochester, Minnesota where he is currently a third-year Internal Medicine resident at Mayo Clinic (www.mayo.edu). His interests in this area include the molecular biology of hematological malignancies along with the very human quality of life" aspects surrounding cancer.

The second blogger on TheCancerBlog will be none other than Jason Calacanis' mother Catherine. As a healthcare professional for almost 30 years, Catherine has seen the healthcare industry change dramatically. "I believe that the most dramatic force-and the force with the most potential for significantly improving the quality and delivery of healthcare services-has been technology, particularly information technology (IT) and telecommunications, including the Internet," explains Catherine.

Judith Meskill, Weblogs, Inc. Network (WIN) Editorial Director, is also happy to announce a new addition to TUAW (The Unofficial Apple Weblog) -- Barb Dybwad, who has devoted her life to evangelizing the Mac mentality to creative and thinking individuals everywhere. Barb supports Macs in academia, small business, and the mobile office. Dybwad, who also blogs at www.livemind.net, joins Laurie Duncan on the TUAW team.
