Shelton Theater proudly presents Beyond Therapy a play the LA Times referred to as "wickedly funny, terribly slanted, and essentially true." It's written by Christopher Durang a man considered to be one of the funniest, most original playwrights in the country and it's directed by Jean Shelton who is among San Francisco's most acclaimed interpreters of contemporary work. In short, the show exposes the continuing American neurotic crisis that seems to defy psychotherapy and sadly provides little promise in terms of hope for the future. Particularly relevant, given America's current cultural and political divide over the subject of values, Beyond Therapy, according to Gerald Clarke of Time Magazine does, "offer us the best therapy of all: guaranteed Laughter."
"Beyond Therapy", written by Chris Durang and directed by Jean Shelton previews Thursday, January 6th at 8PM. It opens on Friday, January 7th at 8PM and closes Saturday, January 29th. Showtimes are Thursday - Saturday at 8PM.
"Beyond Therapy", plays at the Shelton Theater, 533 Sutter St., between Powell and Mason St. in San Francisco. Tickets are $20. For advance ticket sales go to http://www.jeanshelton.com.
