(PRWEB) December 10, 2004 -- "Tired of being victimized by the credit system? Need to vent to someone who really cares? Speak-out February 1- 28 during National Credit Horror Story Month!! Enter this year's Rising Star Foundations Americas Worst Credit Horror Story Contest. Sponsored by Rising Star Foundation, publishers of personal finance resource guides for consumers, the contest awards books for the top six (500 words or fewer) responses to "My Worst Credit Nightmare" in 20 categories.

Contest categories will cover everything from Identity Theft to Debt Collectors to Unscrupulous Credit Counseling Agencies to Dishonest Car Dealerships. We're looking for responses like, 'My son or daughter went to college only to rack-up $50,000 in credit card debt, says Renee D. Crenshaw and Anthony B. Miles, co-authors of the smash hit book Everything You Wanted To Know About Credit But Were Too Ashamed To Ask and creators of the contest. Most if not all horror stories can be avoided if consumers understood how the credit system worked and knew what their rights were. Rising Star Foundations Americas Worst Credit Horror Story Contest offers just a bit of fun to an otherwise sensitive topic." All winning responses will be published in Renee D. Crenshaw and Anthony B. Miles new resource guide entitled Credit Horror Stories: And How-To Prevent from Becoming the Next Victim, where all children and adults will be able to learn from these stories.
