National Association of System Administrators, Inc. Improves Service Delivery by Consolidating North Central Operations into a 17,000 Square Foot Building in Crystal Lake, IL

The National Association of System Administrators, Inc. (NASA) has consolidated North central operations into one 17,000 square foot facility, bringing together Technical Support Management, Call Center, equipment labs, executive offices, and the Disaster Recovery co-location site for Illinois.

(PRWEB) December 13, 2004 -- NASA spent more than a year locating a facility large enough and, more importantly, with the infrastructure to support a lab, Disaster Recovery co-location, and equipment test facility of the magnitude that NASA required. The lab includes all IT equipment commonly found in customers data centers, many duplicated in several configurations. Equipment once distributed over seven locations is now together in one lab environment, thereby eliminating the time lag of going from building to building testing different machine configurations and types. Andy Brown, Director of Service Delivery, for NASA stated, Maybe our customers never noticed the extra time spent, however we did. We are now able to recreate failure scenarios in the lab as we are engaged on the initial call from our customers. There is a real advantage to having multiple machines with differing configurations live and always available. Quality service is all about solving the customer problem in the most expedient manner. This new lab helps achieve that goal." Andy further stated, Anything we can do to reduce customer downtime without raising cost, gives our customers an advantage in their market place. Thats their goal and we help them deliver." The new facility also serves as a co-location site for several current customers as well as a disaster recovery site for several others. NASA is currently searching for larger facilities in the east, south, west, and Canada.
