Featherweight Title Showdown Announced as the CWFC Calls up a 3rd Member of the American Top Team to Appear at Cagewarriors 9 Against the Unbeaten French Champion Emmanuel Fernandez.
The Cagewarriors Fighting Championships owner/promoter Dougie Truman; the innovator of the UK MMA scene, is proud to announce that a 3rd member of the American Top Team will be making his UK debut at Cagewarriors 9 Xtreme Xmas on the 18th December at the Sheffield Octagon Centre in Yorkshire.

Soares also claim first place at the 2004 Grapplers Quest U.S. Nationals 22nd May 2004 in the Mens No-Gi Advanced Flyweight (139.9 lbs and below) division. "Gigetto" has a reputation for being a experienced and incredibly skilled Jiu Jitsu fighter who has a reputation for being an entertaining crowd pleaser with incredible speed. This will no doubt please the Sheffield crowd which was treated to 8 action packed fights at the previous Cagewarriors show on September 18th.
Soares' above skills were also evident when he defeated the unbeaten Ulysses Rocha (3-0) who had victories in big name events in Canada such as TKO and APEX in Canada. Ironlife.com reported said that Andres Soares exhibited excellent ground control against a very game Rocha" en route to a win by Judges Decision over two, five minute rounds last month.
Soares opponent with be the Cagewarriors Featherweight Champion Emmanuel Fernandez from the French Top Team who were created following a merger of Team Schiavo and Team Fernandez in May 2004. The FTT have been wowing audiences all over Europe since, with a mixture of excellent submission specialists and young dynamic strikers. Fernandez, a black belt in BJJ has a perfect 5-0 MMA record and has never gone past the first round in CWFC competition winning all 4 of his CWFC matches via triangle choke. He claimed the CWFC in the main event of Cagewarriors 7 in May when he defeated the former amateur boxer Ian Butlin. Since then Fernandez defeated Butlin's team mate and UFC vet Leigh Remedios via Judges Decision at Cage Rage 8 in London in September.
Since that victory the French Top Team manager Darragh Creamer has being calling out for big name opponents and tougher fights for the De La Riva Black Belt. Will he regret it come December 18th when the Florida based outfit arrive in Sheffield looking to show who the Top Team" really are in this intriguing ATT vs. FTT encounter between 2 top foreign imports at Cagewarriors 9.
