The International RFID Technology Center Locates in Frisco, Texas
The IRTC Will Provide Leadership, Guidance and Services for the RFID Industry
The International RFID Technology Center, Inc. (IRTC) announced today that they have reached an agreement with the Frisco Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) to locate the IRTCs headquarters in the City of Frisco, Texas, one of the fastest growing cities in the thriving Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) area. This enables the
IRTC to take advantage of DFWs technology talent pool and geographic location as a focal point for activity in the RF (radio frequency) and RFID (radio frequency identification) sectors.
Frisco, TX (PRWEB) December 18, 2004 -- The IRTC has been established to assist client companies throughout the world in emerging industry verticals with the implementation of these RFID and related sensor technologies to create value or lead to a competitive advantage. Product suppliers to major retail companies are being challenged by the emerging mandates to provide RFID-enabled shipments to their customers. Other major industries are also looking at the benefits this advanced technology can provide. As RFID adoption grows in 2005 and beyond, the impact and influence of services provided by the International RFID Technology Center will grow as well.
With the FEDC Board unanimously approving to support this initiative, the North Texas region is quickly becoming the center of RFID activity," said Richard R. Jaffe, CEO of the IRTC. With the financial and infrastructure assistance being provided by the city of Frisco, we are truly focused and very excited about establishing the IRTC as the epicenter of RFID technologies, services and people."
We are very excited about having the IRTC locate its corporate headquarters in the City of Frisco and we look forward to their growth in providing jobs to our growing community and enhancing our international presence as a technology oriented city" said James L. Gandy, President of the FEDC.
The International RFID Technology Center, Inc. and its executive team will be locating their offices to 2591 North Dallas Parkway, Suite 501 in the Hall Office Park in December 2004. Bringing the team together at one location will enable the company to accelerate its programs and growth", said Mr. Jaffe.
The IRTC is extending its influence not only within North America, but also to Europe and Asia where company executives are contending with the implementation of this fast emerging and growing technology to improve and secure their operations. Efforts are already underway to establish an IRTC branch operation in the Boston area for this purpose.
The International RFID Technology Center
The IRTCs mission is to provide thought leadership and guidance in RFID and related sensor technologies to decision makers of Fortune 1000 companies, to enable them to implement this emerging technology more effectively and profitably into their operations. The IRTC is well positioned with seasoned and experienced professionals in providing consulting services to clients in the supply chain management, personal and physical security applications, healthcare and other industry verticals.
The IRTC is expected to launch, in the first quarter of 2005, an RFID and Related Sensor Technology Business Incubator with an initial capitalization of $10.0 million to promote innovation, excellence and entrepreneurship in this fast-evolving industry and technology sector. The IRTC has received interest from several large capital funds to invest in the incubator.
