Mighty Mites Youth Mentoring Basketball Program Launched in Edison HOOP HeadQuarters Combining Basketball Skills, With Values and Mentoring

Kindergarten through 5th grade basketball skills clinic for boys and girls in Edison, New Jersey. Combining the teaching of basketball fundamentals with interaction with current varsity and junior varsity basketball players from JP Stevens and Edison High Schools provides fun and positive experience for children.

Fords, NJ (PRWEB) December 18, 2004 -- Hoop HeadQuarters, the nine year old basketball camp, clinics and skills instruction company has developed the Mighty Mite Youth Mentoring Basketball program and is launching the inaugural sessions in Edison, NJ.

The Edison Mighty Mite Program is available to all eleven elementary school children, both boys and girls in grades K -- 5th. The program will run January 3 -- 28th and registration is already underway.

Informational brochures have been provided to every teacher kindergarten through fifth grade. Families can also find all program information and apply on-line at www.hoopheadquarters.com. Based in New Jersey and operating Nation-wide HOOP HeadQuarters has been known for creative programming for boys and girls of all age groups.

The Mighty Mite Basketball Program is a youth mentoring program developed around the game of basketball. We combine basic athletic body movements, fun and creative activities, basketball skill introduction with the childrens interaction with current the varsity and/or junior varsity team members and coaches from both JP Stevens and Edison High Schools. Each session will be run at either the Minnie B. Veal or Stelton Community Recreation Centers.

By providing one-on-one opportunities for the children to interact with team members, as well as getting them involved at the varsity games with a half-time Mighty Mite Ballers Dribble Show we believe we can have a positive impact on the lives of these children.

We will teach and stress basketball fundamentals," stated HOOP HeadQuarters President and on-court director Jeff House, while providing a fun and exciting environment for each child."

Every child will receive a FREE basketball, Mighty Mite t-shirt and water bottle, as well as a Mighty Mite ID Card with many privileges and benefits, including FREE admission to all varsity games for the Mighty Mite and one adult. Mighty Mites will receive two tickets to a selected college basketball game, and other exciting give a ways throughout the program.
