Area Nonprofits to Benefit from Local Web Company

PBWeb announces pro bono Internet-based services recipients

Palmer, MA (PRWEB) December 19, 2004 -- PBWeb, a division of Five Star Professional Services, Inc. (5StarProsm,), announced the latest recipients of PBWebs pro bono Internet services.

"We were pleased to help the Spencer Agricultural Fair this quarter and we will be working with the1745 Meeting House next quarter," said Gail Sterner, owner of the Palmer-based company. "Also, we will continue to provide Internet service to the Quaboag Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Women's Business Alliance Organization."

Sterner understands the power and effectiveness of the Internet. "I realized that nonprofit organizations could benefit greatly from a strong Internet presence. More and more people turn to the Web when looking for services and goods. The Internet is an excellent way for the community to find out about the vast array of services available to them through nonprofit organizations."

Aware of the funding cuts that have effected most nonprofits, Sterner realized that many organizations did not have budget funds for web services or site development. This concern led to the formation of PBWeb, a pro bono service geared to nonprofit organizations in the Quaboag Valley.

"PBWeb will assist nonprofits by developing a web site, providing web hosting, or making web site changes and updates according to the organizations needs. They will also benefit from 5StarProsms approach to search engine optimization," said Sterner.

5StarProsm offers a wide-range of services including web design, E-commerce, Internet marketing database design, E-mail marketing, and web hosting for area businesses. "We study the latest research on creating a search engine-friendly web site by looking at the content, the format of the page, the code used to create the web page, and the meta content," explained Sterner. "We identify relevant keyword phrases from the recent search engine queries and then compile a list of the best keywords or keyword phrases. This information enables us to effectively position the web site within a specific search engine."

Nonprofit organizations wishing to apply for this pro bono service may e-mail PBWeb@5StarPro.com for details and an application for the program. 5StarProsm will select at least one nonprofit organization per quarter for this program.
