Tidy Bowl Man Comes Out Of the (Water) Closet, Does Music and Standup Comedy
Formerly the voice of the Tidy Bowl man and thousands of other TV and radio commercials in the 70's, Craig 'Lumpy' Lemke performs acoustic fingerstyle guitar, hilarious vocals and standup comedy at "The Coffee Gallery Backstage" in Altadena, CA, Feb 12, 2005.
(PRWEB) December 19, 2004 -- In celebration of the release of his newest all acoustic fingerstyle solo guitar CD "Tarantula", Craig 'Lumpy' Lemke will perform in concert on Saturday February 12, 2005 at 7pm and 9:30pm at The Coffee Gallery Backstage, 2029 N Lake Ave, Altadena CA 91001. Tickets and information may be obtained at (626) 398-7917.
Craig 'Lumpy' Lemke, formerly one of the busiest commercial guitarists and vocalists in LA, has played with everyone from The Smothers Brothers to the LA Philharmonic. Lumpy has been even more prolific as the voice behind thousands of television and radio commercials. He was the voice of the Tidy Bowl man, the Ken-L-Ration St Bernard, The Liv-A-Snaps guy and thousands of other commercials and voice-overs in the 70's. If you're old enough, you've heard him but probably didn't know it.
Now Lumpy brings to his solo act, his hilarious comedic observations on human behaviour, intertwined with his incredible virtuoso fingerstyle guitar skills. Experiencing Lumpy perform is like seeing Andres Segovia perform a fabulous classical guitar piece and then seamlessly slip into a rip roaring, stand-up comedy routine. Then, just when you think you've got his style nailed, Lumpy plays acoustic surf tunes followed by tear jerking romantic ballads. Lumpy continually invites his audience to experience yet another aspect of his constantly changing, constantly entertaining comedy/musical act.
Lumpy demonstrates masterful control of his vocal, instrumental and comedic talents, and absolutely thrives on crowd interaction in a sort of Mort Sahl meets Gallagher kind of way. Lumpy is particularly delightful to experience in small, intimate settings where the audience can experience all of the fine nuances of his performance. It's a musical and comedy roller coaster ride, piloted by a true professional.
