Mr. Tappin a noted Internet and Entertainment industries executive, known foremost as the previous Chief Financial Officer of Overture Services Inc. and before that, as the Senior Vice President for Twentieth Century Fox brings a vast background of knowledge to sporg.com. Mr. Tappin will assist SPORG in defining tactical business strategies for growth in this rapidly emerging sector.

Prior to this, Mr.Tappin has held roles as CEO and CFO of various companies, including: Overture Services and Twentieth Century Fox - Mr. Tappin’s experience in strategic planning and finance are renowned. During his tenure as the founding Chief Financial Officer of Overture Services he was involved in raising substantial private equity before taking the company public. Subsequently he was instrumental in many business development agreements, led several acquisitions that totaled over $500 million, and assisted in the company’s international expansion. In addition he co-led the sale of the company to Yahoo in October, 2003 for $1.8 Billion.

While at Twentieth Century Fox revenues grew from $400 million to $1 billion annually and the Interactive Division moved from being an unprofitable company to a profitable one, with over $200M in annual revenue. Before joining Fox, Tappin was Director of Finance at MCA/Universal for three years. He began his professional career as a CPA with Deloitte, Haskins and Sells and holds a B.S. in Business from the University of Colorado.
