Casino Dealer Writes How to Play Craps Book
Falbe Publishing announces release of new how to play craps book "Get Dicey: Play Craps and Have Fun" written by former Las Vegas craps dealer, Tracy Michigan. Author decided to write book because of the consistent interest people expressed about her knowledge of the game.
(PRWEB) December 22, 2004 -- Every year, over fifty million people visit casinos for excitement and a chance to win money, and most of them walk by the craps tables without satisfying their curiosity about the game. Many books are available for learning craps before putting money on the table, and for advice from a former Las Vegas craps dealer, the new how-to book Get Dicey: Play Craps and Have Fun," has just been released by Falbe Publishing.
The author, Tracy Michigan, describes the book as a long conversation with a dealer that anticipates and answers all the questions players have about craps.
People have always been interested in what I know about craps. I have to talk about it at every party I go to, and every job interview as well," Michigan said. So, about four years ago, it occurred to me to write a book and let everyone know."
In her experience, many people visiting casinos clearly want to play craps but do not approach the game because they dont know how to play. When I was dealer, I constantly saw people shy away from the dice table because it looked too complex," Michigan said. But I really think it is the most entertaining game in the casino. There are lots of different bets, and when youre the shooter, you become the center of the game. Its exciting."
Michigan intends the book to be a place where people can quickly get the basic rules, learn the good bets from the bad bets, and gain the confidence to play the game and have a good time.
She combined her gaming expertise and education as a journalist to write the book. Organizing the material came easily to her because she had helped countless people play the game and she knew exactly what steps to take people through.
Michigan said that she also took care when writing the book to make it entertaining and not just drone on about rules. She interjects stories from her thousands of hours of live-game experience to illustrate points and sometimes just to be humorous. She recalls one player who made so many bets in an attempt to cover losses, that he usually owed a dollar after each roll even when half his bets won.
Another important goal of the book the author said was encouraging people to talk to the casino staff. Craps is a very verbal game," Michigan said. If you have questions, ask them. Dont wonder how much odds you should bet. Ask and find out because you have to take your odds to win."
Although Get Dicey: Play Craps and Have Fun" starts by instructing readers on the basics, it also includes information about every kind of craps bet, house advantage percentages for every bet, popular betting strategies, and even gambler superstitions. I even tell readers what kind of jargon to use so they can sound cool when theyre playing," Michigan said.
Get Dicey: Play Craps and Have Fun" is a 128-page book available at www.falbepublishing.com and www.amazon.com.
