New Password Recovery Tool for Microsoft Office Suite documents is able to recover passwords to documents created in 14 applications, and supports more than 30 types of password encryption.
ElcomSoft Co. Ltd. has released Advanced Office Password Recovery (AOPR), an application that allows business managers, information technology support administrators, and law enforcement officials to gain access to Microsoft(R) Office(R) password-protected documents, that have been accidentally or purposefully password protected. New product combines the latest and the most advanced cryptanalysis algorithms developed by Elcomsoft's research department. AOPR is capable of instantly recovering passwords for a wide range of Microsoft's business and office applications, including all components of MS Office, from the very first DOS versions to Office 2003 programs, including the ones for Windows, Mac, Pocket PC and localized versions. Over 30 different types of password encryption methods are supported.
The main advantage of AOPR is that this program uses smart approach to restoring so-called strong passwords. First, the program scans password cache and uses preliminary attack method, which results in recovering passwords for 60% of all protected documents instantly (while these documents are being loaded) or in a matter of a few minutes. Since most people use simple, unsophisticated, easy-to-remember passwords, this approach saves a significant amount of time. For the rest of the documents, AOPR uses a combination of dictionary/brute force attacks with Elcomsoft's proprietary decryption algorithms, optimized for most modern processors.
In addition to being extremely fast, AOPR is very conservative with system resources. Unlike some other resource-hogging applications bloated with extraneous features, AOPR is brainlessly easy, very user-friendly, and comes with a wealth of customization options encryption and PC forensics specialists need.
AOPR Professional runs under Windows(R) operating systems (from Windows 98 to Windows Server 2003). Free trial version is available.
