Valencia Property Owners and Visitors Enjoy More and Cheaper Flights

Better deal for Valencia property owners and visitors as airfare prices between UK and Valencia fall and the number of flights increase. Valencia remains the most affordable area for holiday home buyers.

(PRWEB) December 23, 2004 -- Valencia property owners and visitors will enjoy cheaper and more frequent flights between the UK and this Spanish city in 2005.

People with holiday or retirement homes in Valencia are set to enjoy a substantial price cut in airfares between the UK and Valencia -- as well as a big increase in the number of flights.

Ticket prices have been slashed and the number of airports served from Valencia has increased from two (Heathrow and Gatwick) to eight (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Bristol, Manchester, Coventry, Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield, and Bournemouth). Also the number of airlines linking Valencia with the UK has increased from just two (BA and Iberia) to six (BA, Iberia, easyJet, Ryanair, Thomsonfly, and Jet2.com).

The number of seats available on flights between the UK and Valencia has increased from approximately 2650 per week in the spring of 2004 to approximately 10 000 per week in the spring of 2005 -- an increase of some 277 per cent.

Almost three million passengers will use Valencia airport in 2004 -- some 30 per cent more than in 2003. This compares with passenger growth of just 5 per cent for Madrid and 10 per cent for Barcelona.

An increased number of flights has brought increased competition. Return tickets are now available for as little as ₤71.00 in March 2005 with easyJet (Stansted) and ₤59.00 in June 2005 with Jet2.com (Manchester).

Valencia airport has decided to open its runway to the new generation of low-cost airlines and this is finally putting the area on the travel map," says John Rawlins, partner at Valencia-based estate agents Rawlins & Holden. Just a year ago, flights to Valencia were infrequent and expensive when compared to other Spanish cities such as Alicante -- and now this has all changed."

Valencia property handled by Rawlins & Holden ranges from town centre apartments to eight bedroom villas with pools. Villa prices tend to range from around ₤75.000 to ₤220.000 -- considerably less than better known coastal areas.

Our typical buyer spends just ₤135.000 for a villa with a pool and nowhere on the Mediterranean is more affordable. However, price is not the only consideration. People who buy near Valencia are usually looking to enjoy all the benefits and cultural attractions of a large and vibrant city," said John Rawlins.
