eVenture into eMarketing for the Masses

In addition to its many free Open Source programs, eLearning developer Engage Interactive has just released a guerrilla eMarketing toolkit under the creative commons license to help small businesses and business startups take advantage of both free and inexpensive marketing tools available on the Internet.

(PRWEB) December 24, 2004 -- We designed this guide as the marketing component in our Turnkey eVenture Business Package," said John Heinstein, VP of Software Development for Engage. And were giving it away free to anyone who wants it."

It describes how to use the smorgasbord of tools that are available, for the most part, free on the Internet," said Mr. Heinstein. It includes things like using blogs and RSS feeds for marketing, submitting to free media release sites, getting listed in online directories, using newsgroups and ezines, and setting up an affiliate program."

According to the guide, all thats needed is a web site, an email program, an internet connection and time. With these basic tools, plus the information in the guide, anyone can market their products or services for thousands of dollars less than what they would pay through traditional marketing such as attending conferences, running campaigns through print media and advertising on television."

The guide was inspired by the concept of guerilla marketing," said Mr. Heinstein. Guerrilla marketers use resources that are readily available on the Internet, and put them together into a package of tools tailor-made to their individual needs."

The guide also contains links to additional information of each of the tools," said Mr. Heinstein.

The guide is part of Engage Interactives Turnkey eVenture Business Package. We created this package in response to inquiries we received from doctors and business people who were approaching retirement," said Mr. Heinstein. These were people with a tremendous amount of knowledge and expertise. Most of them were giving seminars and teaching courses to younger employees who could benefit from the kind of workplace savvy that comes only with experience."

We created a turnkey package that allows them to harness that knowledge and turn it into an online business," said Mr. Heinstein. We turn their knowledge into online courseware and set them up with a web site loaded with e-commerce features and student tracking mechanisms. The Engage eMarketing guide is one of key components in helping them to market their new online businesses."

As word of the guide spread," said Mr. Heinstein, we received requests for copies from people who already had online businesses, but were completely stymied by the complexity of understanding the full potential of the Internet as a marketing device. Since we were already offering free Open Source programming tools on our site, we decided to open source" the marketing guide under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 2.0 License."
