Marblehead, MA (PRWEB) December 27, 2004 -- The Boston Yacht Club and The Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron Race Committee have selected WebRelay to host their 100th anniversary Web site of the Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race. The race will start on July 10th 2005. The Web site address can be located at www.marbleheadtohalifax.com.
Working with the BYC, RNSYS and WebRelay is the advertising agency Catalano, Lellos & Silverstein in New York City, who provided the design and production of the Web site. The site is being maintained by volunteers from Promosis, Inc., Marblehead, MA.
This Yachting event is the oldest international ocean race in North America. The 2005 ocean race will mark the 100th anniversary of this historical race. . In August 1905, 6 boats participated in the race and after 100 years we are now expecting over 120 yachts that will sail and test their seamanship in the 360 nautical miles course. The Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race is a bi-annual event with the sister race being the Newport to Bermuda Race on the even years.
The Web site is designed for 3 audiences: racers, sponsors and fans (spectators). "Marbleheadtohalifax.com has something for each audience: detailed race information for the racers and fans, links to our retail partner, Team 1 Newport, for race apparel, photographs and video. And for race sponsors, we present the history of the event, race galleries and sponsorship information," said Paul Dougovito, 2005 Race Chairman.
"Racers (skippers and boat owners) can register their early interest in the race now. Official online race registration will be available in early 2005. Also, Race Sponsorships are still available."
