Calvary Chapel Deltona Acquires Elks Lodge Building
Calvary Chapel Deltona, a nondenominational christian church, has acquired the property and building formerly belonging to The Elks Lodge of Deltona at 2740 Doyle Road, Deltona, Florida.
(PRWEB) December 25, 2004 -- Calvary Chapel Deltona, a nondenominational christian church, has acquired the property and building formerly belonging to The Elks Lodge of Deltona at 2740 Doyle Road. The announcement of the purchase is made today by Mark Winters, Pastor and founder of the nondenominational christian church.
Calvary Chapel Deltona started Easter Sunday of 2004. Pastor Mark Winters stated that the purpose of the church is, "Preparing God's people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up--Ephesians 4."
"Since its inception, the church has grown at a pace unlike a normal church start and it was evident God was doing something out of the ordinary," remarked Pastor Winters. Although he had planned on remaining in rented facilities for several years Winters began to feel God's call to look for a permanent church home and a search by church leaders began. Shortly thereafter, the 4,000 square foot Elks Lodge along with 4.1 acres was found. Negotiations with the owners, Blue Hole Investment Corporation, were completed on November 3rd, 2004.
"Having property and a building so soon was never in the original plan of planting this church, but in God's providence He has blessed our church body abundantly," commented Pastor Winters. "This building was put up for sale at the right time in the right location of Deltona, where I eventually wanted to be, at the right price and the land will more than meet the needs of a growing church. Everything just seemed to fall into place."
The church now meets in their new facility located at 2740 Doyle Road, Deltona, Florida. Sunday worship begins at 10 AM and Wednesday Bible study and prayer time begins at 7 PM. Child care is provided for both services.
A church dedication weekend is being planned for Saturday, January 22nd, and Sunday, January 23rd, 2005.
