(PRWEB) December 25, 2004 -- Win 1000 worth of photographic equipment and a day with one of the regions best know professional photographers
The North East Regional Portal, n-e-life.com, has launched a photography competition to find the perfect picture that captures the essence of the North East.
The top prize for the winner of the annual competition is 1000 worth of photographic equipment and the opportunity to spend a day shadowing one of the North Easts best known professional photographers, Graeme Peacock.
n-e-life, supported by One NorthEast, is looking for original images that are unusual, exciting, creative and best represent the chosen themes. There are four opportunities throughout the year for submissions and individuals can enter one or all of the quarterly qualifying rounds.
Norma Foster, general manager of n-e-life said, Were looking for photographs that represent the whole of the North East and its people at different times of the year.
"We hope that the competition will attract entries from across the region. Particularly as the North East is changing in front of our eyes, with the creation of some of the most exciting and creative developments in the country, while still managing to reflect the energy, character and charm which is unique to the people of the region.
"We are looking for photographs that demonstrate these changes, but most importantly, reflect the sheer breadth of the region and its offerings."
The winning entries of the quarterly qualifying rounds will be published on n-e-life.com and will be automatically entered for the annual prize of a day with top photographer Graeme Peacock plus 1000 worth of photographic equipment.
The winner will be asked to select the equipment online from n-e-life.com, which provides a comprehensive gateway to all the well known photography retailers in the region.
The quarterly themes and deadlines for submissions are
1. New beginnings -- all entries must be submitted by 15 January 2004.
2. Spring Fever -- all entries must be submitted by 15 April 2005.
3. Summertime with water -- all entries must be submitted by 5 August 2005.
4. Autumn tones -- all entries must be submitted by 15 November 2005.
Norma Foster concludes: this is the perfect opportunity for amateur photographers or students wishing to see their work showcased on the portal. The themes are broad and are open to interpretation and should provide competitors with lots of scope for creativity."
