(PRWEB) December 26, 2004 -- One hundred and twenty cases of copy paper, three industrial pallet loads, were donated and delivered to Stoughton Public Schools on December 22nd by members of the non-profit organization known as Saving Our Public Schools, Inc. The approximate retail value of the donation is $2,300.

There to greet the delivery truck and accept the generous donation were Stoughton Superintendent Claire McCarthy and Chairman of the Stoughton School Committee Alan Mills. Trucking services were compliments of Humboldt Moving and Storage, a Canton-based United Van Lines Agent.

This paper was paid for via a paper drive coordinated and orchestrated by Saving Our Public Schools, Inc. members Lisa Sharland and Karla Morast of Copy Inks, a Stoughton-based printing company. The public and business community donated either money or a ream of paper to the drive.

We are delighted to help Stoughton Schools with this donation of copy paper. They are a great school system to work with," noted Rick Kaplan, the founder of Saving Our Public Schools, Inc., Stoughton resident, and owner of Cingular stores throughout Massachusetts and Florida. He added, Our mission is to help other area schools with items that bare bones budget just arent paying for anymore. We encourage other public school systems to contact and work with us to fill in the gaps where taxes leave off."

Go to the head of the class -- Background on Saving Our Public Schools, Inc.
In the Fall of 2003, Saving Our Public Schools, Inc. was founded in response to the economic crisis confronting public schools throughout communities in Massachusetts. Lead by a volunteer board, Saving Our Public Schools, Inc., is well aware of the success that individual foundations such as the Parents Teachers Associations and Band Parents have had in many communities, and will continue to encourage local fundraising events and the valuable support shown by area businesses.

Saving Our Public Schools, Inc., however, also recognizes that the financial constraints facing school systems now and in the future require that we take a new and bold approach. It is our intent to reach out to the national corporations and draw upon their extensive resources. Through their contributions, we will be able to grant the kind of support that many school systems need to save vital programs and staff members.

Saving Our Public Schools, Inc. funds are not intended to substitute or alleviate the current responsibilities of taxpayers for the funding of schools. The organizations goal is to assist communities to ensure that the children of Massachusetts have the materials and programs that will provide them with the high quality educational experience that they deserve and will need to become successful adults.

The public is encouraged to get involved or donate goods, services or money to Saving Our Public Schools, Inc.

From Class Clown to Class President
Saving Our Public Schools, Inc. is recruiting brave souls to serve on committees and help expand the organizations outreach. Positions are open on the Education Committee, Special Events, Corporate Fundraising, Public Relations, Grant Administration, Membership.
