New Jewelry Company Combines Fashion and Art
Lespiritu Design, a company specializing in handcrafted jewelry, announces the launch of its online store- www.lespiritu.com. Espiritu, a spanish word meaning soul or spirit, embodies the aesthetic philosophy of Lespiritu Design. This small company strives to design products that are soulful, simple, and nature-inspired.
(PRWEB) December 26, 2004 -- Its first collection features woodburnt pendants that are hand-drawn and engraved in high-quality wood using a process called woodburning. Woodburnt pendants are then lacquered and strung in leather or suede cords, pearls, semi-precious stones, glass beads, and other materials and made into stunning and one-of-a-kind necklaces, lariats, bracelets, and earrings. While woodburning is usually a folkloric and traditional art form, L'espiritu Design strives to add its own modern twist by featuring designs that are fresh, original, and creative. As a result, each piece of jewelry becomes a mini-work of art.
Cristina Espiritu, the founder of Lespiritu Design, loves to pair and juxtapose materials in unexpected ways. I am not afraid to pair materials which one may not normally see together, such as a rustic wood pendant with classic pearls," says Espiritu. I think the multi-faceted nature of my designs reflect the women who wear my jewelry- stylish, interesting, and adventurous."
Espiritu received her undergraduate degree from UCLA, and recently received a dual MBA/JD degree from Penn State University. Aside from her jewelry line, she also owns and manages Handcrafted Design Shop (www.hdesignshop.com), an online boutique featuring apparel, accessories, and home décor products from emerging domestic and international designers.
