Winter Wonderlands Peace Message a Hollywood Tradition with a Creative Spirit

(PRWEB) December 26, 2004 -- Since opening early in December, L. Ron Hubbards Hollywood Winter Wonderland has entertained 1000s of passersby with Mariachi bands, piņata parties, Korean dancers, African Drums, childrens choruses, saxophonists, performers from many lands and more. On the more unusual side there has been the dare-devil Santa rappelling his way down an 8-story building, snowfall in the middle of Hollywood, and to wrap it all up for the 2004 holiday season, Beatlemania.
In a free concert, Beatlemania memories mixed with yuletide carols in a special Christmas Eve finale. The Apple Band is the newest and fastest rising Beatle Tribute Band from Southern California. The mop-heads performed the full gamut of Beatle favorites from "She Loves You," to Abbey Road. Members are David Leon (John Lennon) Frank Mendonca (Paul McCartney) Tom Perkins (George Harrison) Mike Sarafian (Ringo Starr). Michael Sherman hosted the show as Ed Sullivan to make the memory complete.
From the 60-foot Christmas tree to the authentic sleigh from the Winter Wonderland film that gives it its name, imagination and a genuine spirit of fun spread a holiday message from humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard: "On the day when we can fully trust each other, there will be peace on earth."
"All You Need is Love" takes on special meaning, in this magical setting," said one visitor who came for Santas final farewell. Over the past few weeks, thousands of children and their families were entertained while making their annual pilgrimage to Santa seated in his rocking chair.
The Winter Wonderland tradition began in1983 when Mr. Hubbard donated the first 60-foot Christmas tree to "the children of Hollywood." It was such a success that since then, through the efforts of the Friends of L. Ron Hubbard Foundation, the Christmas tree and wintry set that surround it have been presented each year as a community service. Winter Wonderland has been acknowledged for its holiday contribution by the Hollywood Arts Council, former councilwoman District 13, Jackie Goldberg and Mayors Richard Riordan and James K. Hahn of Los Angeles.
