2005 Sore Thumbs Awards -- DJ Decks & FX (PS2) awarded Technical Excellence in Sound
Advance look at the 2005 Sore Thumbs Awards which streets January 1, 2005.
Louisville, KY (PRWEB) December 29, 2004 -- Sonys Playstation2 version of DJ Decks & FX has been awarded with Technical Excellence in Sound in the 2005 Sore Thumbs Awards: Theres nothing here that hasnt been done better on PC, and the digital-mixer-turned-game concept has been tried before with the MTV Music Generator series, but somehow DJ Decks still manages to feel like something completely new. It recreates a two turntable and mixing board setup and gives you the ability to do just about anything you could in real life short of scratching (which would have been ace with the dual analogs): adjust frequency levels, beatmatch, record samples, apply digital effects, and crossfade. Better yet, you can preview your work on a headset before mixing in the effects live. Please, Sony, bring this out in the U.S.!"
Also recognized in the Technical Excellence in Graphics category were the X-Box versions of Burnout 3: Takedown (Electronic Arts) and Halo 2 (Microsoft).
Burnout 3 Especially awesome are the slow motion sound effects during the crashes."
Halo 2 Youll understand if the neighbors think aliens are actually invading." (excerpted from the full text)
