Zigler Museum Extends Viewing Dates for Broussard Exhibit

The Zigler Museum, 411 Clara Street, Jennings, Louisiana 70546 has extended the exhibition date for their Home for the Holiday" display. The show opened on November 20, 2004, and has been extended two additional weeks until January 12, 2005. Home for the Holiday" honors the work and collection of Louisiana native and Houston resident Troy Broussard.

(PRWEB) December 30, 2004 -- The Zigler Museum, 411 Clara Street, Jennings, Louisiana 70546 has extended the exhibition date for their Home for the Holiday" display. The show opened on November 20, 2004, and has been extended two additional weeks until January 12, 2005. Home for the Holiday" honors the work and collection of Louisiana native and Houston resident Troy Broussard.

The paintings showcased in the three revolving galleries. In the Front Gallery a selection of Broussards work entitled Stories" is displayed. The paintings encompass twelve years of oil paintings on loan from various collectors with emphasis on Cajun themed work.

The exhibit in the Sunroom Gallery Observations" features current pieces of work by Broussard with emphasis on 2004 still life paintings. The Sunroom Gallery also exhibits a selection of oil paintings by Houstonian Michael Anderson. Twelve of Andersons pieces hang with Broussards. The two men have painted together throughout 2004. This portion of the exhibit illustrates how two artists interpret common subject matter differently.

A selection of Broussards personal collection entitled Treasures" hangs in the Central Gallery. Over the past 20 years Troy has collected art with emphasis on southern landscape painters.

The Zigler Museum was established in 1963 by Mrs. Ruth B. Zigler, widow of industrialist and philanthropist Fred B. Zigler. Colorful and realistic indigenous Louisiana wildlife dioramas and Audubon prints are housed in the East Wing, or the Fred B. Zigler Memorial Wing. The West Wing, or the Ruth B. Zigler Memorial Wing, contains an astonishing Fine Art Collection by European and American masters.

Broussard and Anderson are scheduled to open their next showing Two Guys Painting" at the Lowell Collins Gallery, 2903 Saint Street, Houston, Texas 77027 on January 15, 2005, from 6 -- 9 PM. The exhibit will run through January 28, 2005.
