Writersandpoets.com is delighted to announce they have recently signed author Brandon McCalla to a three-book deal to write the Diamond Series. The first book in the trilogy is the newly-released Diamond Drought. The second book, called Diamond Dynasty, will be released in January 2005. The third and final book, as yet untitled, is expected in the summer of 2005.

Diamond Drought, considered America’s first hip hop soap opera by many, is a story that takes place in present day Brooklyn, NY. It focuses on the life of Rich, a young drug hustler trying to pull himself and his family out of a life of crime. The book doesn’t solely focus on the hard-core elements of the streets, but also deals with issues such as friendship, loyalty, love and revenge.

First-time author, Brandon McCalla, has woven his unique perspective on the social, political and economic trends affecting the urban music scene into Diamond Drought. An on-line excerpt of the book is available from Writersandpoets.com at http://writersandpoets.com/home.htm.

Brandon is available for interviews about Diamond Drought, as well as its hotly anticipated sequel, Diamond Dynasty. Brandon welcomes the opportunity to comment as an expert on subjects such as urban music, the importance of hip hop to youth, the drug culture, and inner-city gang violence.
