Christian to Launch Online Youth Community
Teen frustrated with the way Christianity and Jesus is portrayed to youth is to launch an Internet youth ministry in the form of an online community.
(PRWEB) December 31, 2004 -- Weary and frustrated with the way Christianity and Jesus is portrayed to teens, Dan Lee, an enthusiastic Webmaster who is a young adult himself is to officially launch an Internet youth ministry in the form of an online community known as Flame of the Spirit.com on January the 19th 2005.
The main goal of Flame of the Spirit.com is to make Jesus relevant to Young Adults by delivering zealous and zany content and a trendy atmosphere that appeals to youth. When formulating the idea Dan felt it was important that the site removed the church look and feel that allot of Christian youth sites use, he said in some instances church can be a real put off factor for young Christians as well as non-Christians".
Flame of the Spirit.com will follow a similar format to Wikapeadia, which is user driven and lets people submit content by email in the form of articles and movie reviews, the main difference being that the content is evaluated and checked before being utilized and you have to be over 17. Dan said, I also wanted to offer a place where people could be free to witness without all the baggage that Christians are regrettably known for. As our motto says the truth will set you free."
The online ministry takes its name from the Bible account in Acts 2 of the apostles receiving the Holy Spirit giving the ability to communicate to every nation about Jesus. Dan said, The Internet is also a powerful tool and a God given opportunity to tell the world about Jesus, this is why I thought that name would be a fine fit"
