Crystal Cox, Athens 4x400 Meter Gold Medalist and V. Edward Clark & Associates End PR Agreement
Sprint star decides to leave PR firm.
(PRWEB) December 31, 2004 -- The most versatile female sprinter in the US, Crystal Cox, has decided to end her agreement with publicist Ed Clark. Ms. Cox won a gold medal as part of the US 4x400 meter relay in Athens. She is also the reigning 200-meter champion indoors. The split takes effect on December 29, 2004. Mr. Clark of V. Edward Clark and Associates was responsible for handling Ms. Cox' sponsorship, personal appearances, endorsement contracts and media request.
V. Edward Clark & Associates is a PR firm that specializes in the track and field, soccer, rugby and entertainment fields. Current partners include Phatnum Entertainment in Durham, NC, Educational Enhancement in Charlotte, NC and Carla DeBose of San Diego, CA. In addition, V. Edward Clark & Associates is currently working on several concert promotion deals.
Mr. Clark hopes to make 2005 a breakout year for the company. Its other big project for the year is the site selection for a track and field training facility. Current plans are for it to be built in North Carolina but other locations are currently under consideration. Bryan Bell, a Raleigh, NC based architect with Design Corp (http://www.designcorps.org/) is currently working on the plans for the project.
The Sam Bell Center, named for the famed North Carolina high school track coaching legend, would provide a place for elite track and field athletes to train and would host clinics and camps for aspiring track stars. Plans call for the center to be open by the spring of 2006.
As for Ms. Cox, after a very strong 2004 indoor and outdoor campaign, she looks to continue her success in 2005. She continues to train hard and should be well prepared for this outdoor season.
John Burks of the North Carolina Elite Track Club continues as her coach and meet adviser. Any inquiries regarding Ms. Cox should be directed to Mr. Burks.
