The POSLink is a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) equipped Serial to Ethernet converter for serial-line based credit-card payment terminals.

The "POSLink" is a Serial to Ethernet converter that enables the serial-line based credit-card payment terminals to be connected to Ethernet or Broadband Internet by using industry standard protocols. POSLink, which resides in the payment terminal receives the payment information from the terminal, encrypts the data using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology, and transmits it to the Payment Processing Server for posting. After receiving the confirmation from Payment Processing Server the POSLink decrypts the data and transmits to the payment terminal.

Application areas of POSLink include Credit card processors and acquirers, Payment terminal manufacturer, POS system integrator or value added resellers, Broadband service providers, and Merchants as end-users. The POSLink has 10Base-T Ethernet network interface, and transfers the serial data up to 19200bps. In addition, it supports PPPoE protocol for DSL connections and has reliable TCP/IP protocol stack.

Benefits include Easy system maintenance with Internet-based remote device & system management, Seamless integration of on-line and off-line payment system, Lower monthly cost for credit card transaction, and Easy installation and relocation of payment terminals. The POSLink allows full SSL Data Encryption for secure credit card transaction and dramatically reduces the overall processing time to less than 2 seconds.
