No man or organization can take credit for the goodness of G-d. Amid shouts of joy from the dock and from the deck, the G-d of Israel has caused the arrival of the Spirit of Grace, a 5000 ton cargo vessel of Friend Ships, in Israel on Christmas Eve. After 54 days at sea in three storms and battling seas as high as 20 feet, the ship has arrived in Israel on December 24th. Her holds are filled with blessings for the poor and hungry, terror victims, in Israel. Let Christians who love the G-d of Israel and Jews alike give praise.

We must thank the crew, all unpaid volunteers, for the sacrifice of their lives in sailing this vessel from America through the storms of the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean to Israels shores. They have truly placed G-ds will above personal gain.

We must thank the government in Israel for their great help and cooperation including the Prime Ministers Office, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Welfare, and the Customs Ministry. Many government officials have worked hard to make this possible. We are thankful for their efforts.

We recognize and thank the many donors. People and organizations have given sacrificially both in goods and funds to help the poor in Israel. People have given their time. G-d has rewarded their faith in this project. We honor them.

And thank G-d for all who have prayed for the safety of the ship and of the crew. These intercessors have helped make a way for this historic expression uniting the people of America and Israel in the common cause of helping the needy. Let them continue to ask for grace for the hard work of distribution.

Terrorism and economic poverty have created great need in Israel. This is a beginning. We believe that G-ds care for Israel and for the poor will be manifested again and again. This is the first of many ships which will bring much help and comfort. G-ds grace on America will be demonstrated as we bless the poor in Israel and G-d will bless America.
