ECTs INtellECT® Intelligent Network Utilized by Leading Scandinavian Mobile Service Provider for Mobile Office and the Ring Back Tone Service
Yet another Scandinavian mobile service provider has chosen ECT solutions for two new innovative mobile value-added services -- the ECT Mobile Office and the ECT Ring Back Tone Service.
Munich (PRWEB) December 17, 2004 -- Yet another Scandinavian mobile service provider has chosen ECT solutions for two new innovative mobile value-added services -- the ECT Mobile Office and the ECT Ring Back Tone Service. The complete leg management for these services is controlled within the network by an INtellECT® Service Control Point. Special features including interactive voice response (IVR) are realised on an AutoCarrier® Softswitch as an intelligent peripheral. The ECT Ring Back Tone Service is a top-selling mobile service in Scandinavia and throughout Europe. Our solution for mobile office perfectly meets the demands of business customers in terms of more flexibility and mobility -- and this will further strengthen our position as the market leader for mobile value-added services," said Dr. Marshall E. Kavesh, the ECT Groups CEO and cofounder.
The ECT Mobile Office allows mobile operators and providers to offer the key advantages and features of traditional fixed-line phone networks with the benefits of mobile solutions and mobile phones to the financially lucrative business-customer segment. With this ECT solution, many of the traditional fixed-line services such as call forwarding or teleconferencing essentially go mobile, providing a profitable new market for mobile carriers (i.e., a share of high-volume phone traffic in the business world). The service allows the network-based realisation of the most important PBX features, such as pickup groups, hunting groups, executive-secretary groups, etc. Each subscriber can administer his/her features via a web or WAP interface, and there is also a Web-based attendant workplace. The result is that end users gain unlimited flexibility and can cut time and costs by combining numerous office functions in one mobile unit.
In 2004, nearly all ring back tone launches across Europe were realised on the ECT Groups solution. The ECT Ring Back Tone Service is the top-selling value-added service among the ECT Groups broad offering and does particularly well in northern European countries, where a very high market penetration in the mobile-phone sector forces operators and providers to develop new segments to generate revenue: Our products are recommended all over Europe, and Scandinavia is one of our fastest growing markets. I am looking forward to the further expansion of our successes in this region," said Kavesh.

ECT enables highly profitable value-added services via software applications running on its own complete line of open platforms for public switching, service nodes, intelligent networks, intelligent peripherals and next-generation networks based on the Internet Protocol (IP). ECTs mobile value-added services, e.g. Ring Back Tone Service, Prepaid Mobile and Number Portability, are utilised by major mobile carriers, such as Vodafone D2, Tele2Comviq, TeliaSonera, Omnitel, the Saunalahti Group and Hutchison. ECT's fixed-line customers include major incumbents such as BT, Deutsche Telekom and TeliaSonera, as well as alternative carriers such as Tele2, Completel, Telewest and Versatel. ECT value-added services are also used by major Internet service providers such as United Internet AG, as well as by larger providers of prepaid calling cards and services, such as Alpha Telecom, the Calling Card Company Ltd., Central Telecom and Mox Telecom. In the recently liberalised markets of Eastern Europe, ECT also provides cost-efficient and low-maintenance public switching with interconnection. In the Czech Republic, for instance, ECT has equipped virtually all the alternative carriers including PragoNet, the local subsidiary of the Deutsche Telekom Group.
ECT has developed a large line of applications for value-added services, such as fixed-line and mobile number portability, service numbers with televoting and network-based call centre functionality, ring back tone service, prepaid mobile, teleconferencing services, personal number services and prepaid calling cards. Additional service applications are introduced on a regular basis, all of which run on both the ECT AutoCarrier® and INtellECT® platforms. The AutoCarrier® is a class 4 softswitch that can be utilised for both interconnection to the public telephone network and intelligent value-added services. Via its INtellECT® Service Control Point, ECT creates intelligent networks using the Intelligent Network Application Protocol (INAP) CS1 and CS2.
