Scalable Networks Launches QualNet Software Version 3.8, Latest Release Includes Live Network Traffic Feed and 3D Visualization

Scalable Network Technologies (SNT) today announced the launch of its latest software release, QualNet Version 3.8. The software is used to design and test communication networks, including ad-hoc wireless networks and a wide variety of wired and wireless networks

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 17, 2004 -- Scalable Network Technologies (SNT) today announced the launch of its latest software release, QualNet Version 3.8. The software is used to design and test communication networks, including ad-hoc wireless networks and a wide variety of wired and wireless networks.

Version 3.8 includes a new add-on called the Real-time Interfaces Module. With it, QualNet can accept packet data traffic from a real network, enhancing QualNet's real-time simulation capabilities to directly support hardware- and software-in-the-loop simulation.

QualNet 3.8 also includes a beta version of the new 3-dimensional graphical user interface for extremely realistic visualizations of communication networks. The new release has over a dozen new network models, including a new model for background traffic and randomly occurring interface faults.

New protocol models for 3.8 include:
- Policy Based Routing (PBR),
- Session Initiation Protocol (SIP),
- Routing Information Protocol next generation (RIPng),
- Address Resolution Protocol (ARP), and
- Bordercast Resolution Protocol (BRP).

New wireless physical models include:
- Microwave,
- Fast Rayleigh Fading,
- Advanced Stand Alone Prediction System propagation (ASAPS),
- Automatic Link Establishment for High Frequency radios (ALE), and
- a Weather Model for Tropospheric Fading.

Additionally, over a dozen existing protocol models have been updated.

Dr. Rajive Bagrodia, SNT's Founder and CEO, expressed enthusiasm for the new release. "We are very pleased to deliver QualNet version 3.8. The new Real-time Interfaces Module is a very powerful addition to QualNet. It solidifies QualNet's role as an integral capability for customers engaged in simulation-based acquisition, system prototyping, and network analysis." SNT's customers include major U.S. defense contractors, the U.S. military, and research and development groups in the commercial sector.
