Keep It In Place by Design: SportCover by SnowPack

Introducing SportCover by SnowPack, designed to hold SnowPack Cold Therapy securely in place while icing with compression. SportCover has several innovative features not found in most wraps such as 2-way cold coverage and universal fit.

Santa Fe, NM (PRWEB) February 13, 2004 -–What could be more frustrating when icing a sore muscle or joint than having your ice pack constantly slip out of place? How do you keep an ice pack in place long enough and with enough pressure to ice injuries effectively? The answer is SportCover by SnowPack. The makers of reusable, feels-just-like-ice SnowPack have recently introduced SportCover, an advanced-designed universal wrap that holds SnowPack Cold Therapy securely in place while offering compression and a comfortable fit.

Every athlete is familiar with the term R.I.C.E. One of the most recommended icing techniques for reducing inflammation and treating minor injuries, R.I.C.E. stands for rest, ice, compression and elevation. Best used for pulled muscles, sprained ligaments, soft tissue injury, and joint aches. Applying R.I.C.E. treatment will decrease pain, inflammation, muscle spasms, swelling and tissue damage. It achieves this by reducing flow from blood vessels near the injury and decreasing fluid hemorrhaging from cell damage. Using ice is only part of the equation for successful rehabilitation. The staff at SnowPack knew they had a great icing product, but a cover providing effective compression was needed for a winning combination.

After researching many covers and ice wraps currently on the market, as well as talking with athletes about their needs, SportCover was designed to offer features missing in other products. Rather than being patterned after neoprene braces and wraps, which can be excessively tight, are molded to fit just one body part, and non-breathing, SportCover was constructed of fabrics that allow the skin to breathe. Made of tough Cordura Nylon, durable Oxford Nylon and soft Veltex with Velcro closures, SportCover offers adjustable, comfortable compression and fits almost any body part including: lower back, knees, elbows, and ankles. Instead of buying different wraps for each part of the body, purchasing SportCover to ice all parts of the body saves money. Lightweight and portable, SportCover is also washable and has wicking ability.

Another SportCover innovation is its two-sided cold coverage. Other covers and wraps protect the skin using only one side of their cover. SnowPack leads the pack in design innovation by introducing a cover that allows the user a choice of cold coverage. One side is light-weight nylon, allowing more penetrating cold to come through; the other is heavy-weight Cordora which buffers the cold. This two-sided cold coverage has the added benefit of extending the per-freezing use of SnowPack as it melts. Lasting longer than ordinary gel packs, SnowPack stays cold 2+ hours, offering several 20 minute icing sessions without having to refreeze. This allows for more effective treatment and faster rehabilitation. Most gel packs lack this staying power. SnowPack plus SportCover provide the competitive edge!

Created for use with SnowPack reusable, non-toxic cold therapy, SportCover will also fit other commercial ice products. Available online at Amazon.com, SportCover can be purchased alone for $24.95 or with a SnowPack for $29.95.
