Emotional Intelligence Certification First Time in Western Canada

The Six Seconds EQ Network offers an in-depth training in emotional intelligence for the first time in Western Canada. The course equips consultants, trainers, and educators with a powerful set of tools for training others in critical "soft skills." The program also assists individuals who want to live a more emotionally intelligent, balanced, and purposeful life.

(PRWEB) February 17, 2004 --A new certification workshop equips senior managers, consultants, and education leaders with the tools to implement emotional intelligence programmes. The certification is offered by Canada's "Inspirations Unlimited" in conjunction with Six Seconds EQ Network, a leading international advocacy of emotional intelligence.

Emotional intelligence (EQ) is a skill set that allows individuals to forge stronger, better relationships with others by recognizing, understanding and using human emotions. Research has proven that individuals who increase their emotional intelligence can create more positive outcomes in every aspect of their lives, and that Six Seconds unique program can help people achieve greater success in their careers and greater personal fulfillment.

Noted educator and author Joshua Freedman, Director of Programs with Six Seconds (www.6seconds.org), will facilitate the workshop. Six Seconds' program draws on 35 years of experience and the Self-Science Curriculum -- which bestselling author Daniel Goleman hails as "the model for teaching emotional intelligence." Based in California, Freedman has supported the development of emotional intelligence programs for schools, communities, and organizations on six continents, including individuals and teams from American Express, Sheraton, the US Army, US Coast Guard, and numerous schools and hospitals.

The workshop is particularly beneficial for HR professionals, trainers, consultants, teachers, managers, and counselors who see the need to raise interpersonal skills in their employees, students, and patients. While other courses provide EQ theory, this certification is focused on teaching people how to develop the skills and competencies.

"We create transformational learning experiences," Freedman explained, "that let the delegates understand EQ from the inside. Rather than telling them some formula to follow, we provide the tools so they can create the own solutions." In a recent course, delegate surveys showed a 68% increase in tools for emotional intelligence education after the week.

'EQ' has been featured on the cover of Time Magazine, the subject of 50 books, and there are numerous assessments and training programs. At the same time, Freedman noted that this workshop is the only certification course focused on teaching people how to develop the skills for themselves and with others.
