Paraxip Technologies and Kallastra Enter Partnership to Deliver Innovative VoIP Solutions
Paraxip Technologies and Kallastra have agreed to join forces in addressing the growing demand for flexible, scalable and cost-effective solutions for transitioning from traditional telephony to Internet Protocol (IP) telephony.
Montréal, Canada (PRWEB) March 5, 2004 -- Paraxip Technologies and Kallastra today announced that they have agreed to join forces in addressing the growing need by their respective customers for flexible, scalable and cost-effective solutions for transitioning from traditional telephony to Internet Protocol (IP) telephony. Under the agreement, Paraxip will develop innovative Voice-over-IP (VoIP) gateway solutions based on Kallastras KeyTrunk 500 board series. The solutions, which will initially target the call center and the general Interactive Voice Response (IVR) market, will be optimized for use with speech technologies.
We see increasing demand from our customers to address the need for flexibility and transparency in the transition to IP telephony" said Serge Forest, Paraxips President and CEO. The legacy equipment and applications are rarely replaced with IP-telephony gear in a single, fork-lift upgrade. Our customers are introducing IP-telephony in a steady and progressive manner. They are seeking gateway solutions that will enable transparent operations in the hybrid network, mixing and matching IP and regular telephony equipment. This is what Paraxip will bring them".
The solutions will have the added benefits of leveraging the unique characteristics of the KeyTrunk 500 hardware from Kallastra. We are pleased to join Paraxip in offering unparalleled media processing scalability and cost-effectiveness in VoIP gateway solutions designed for the hybrid network" said Frédéric Dickey, Director of Sales and Marketing at Kallastra. We are also proud to work with a partner who fully recognizes the value and who will take full advantage of the unique voice processing features of the KeyTrunk 500 such as our high-quality echo-cancellation, our speech-optimized Voice Activity Detector and the ability to stream VoIP traffic directly from the card. Such voice processing features are invaluable for the quality and efficiency of speech-based applications as well as other Host-Based Media Processing applications."
Initial products from Paraxip are expected to be generally available in the second quarter of this year.
