4D Theatrics invites you to its 5th Annual Kilt & Mini Bash tribute to Tartan Day, the U.S. national holiday honoring Scottish-Americans. Join emcee Spike O’Neill in showing some leg to benefit Seattle arts nonprofits by donning a kilt or miniskirt April 3rd at the Bay Pavilion, Pier 57 on the Seattle Waterfront.

SEATTLE, WA (PRWEB) March 15, 2004 -

4D Theatrics invites you to attend its original Tartan Day Celebration – the Kilt & Mini Bash – 8 PM, Saturday, April 3rd at the Bay Pavilion, Pier 57 on the Seattle waterfront. Guests will enjoy a lavishly themed evening featuring men wearing kilts, women wearing miniskirts, live music from six bands, contests, giveaways and many untold surprises to delight the senses.

In 1998 the United States Senate officially recognized the influential role Scottish-Americans have had in the development of our country when they passed Resolution 155 recognizing April 6th as “National Tartan Day”. Today, over 11 million Americans claim Scottish and Scotch-Irish roots -- making them the eighth largest ethnic group in the United States.

The April 6th date commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath in 1320, which asserted Scotland's sovereignty over English territorial claims, and which had an influence on the American Declaration of Independence.

The Kilt & Mini Bash will feature a dynamic mix of Scottish-inspired merriment and guest participatory excitement. Emcee for this year’s Bash will be radio personality Spike O’Neill, famous for his morning radio antics on The Bob Rivers Show, KZOK 102.5FM. Spike will lead guest participation in such activities as a traditional Highlander Bonny Knees Contest (best knees) as well as introduce musical performances by Legendary Seattle Jazz Guitarist Michael Powers, Mickey Postle and the Fat Swing Collective, The BOWI Band, Pecos Bill, Billet-Deux and the Melanie Fernandi Band.

The Bash has attracted attention over the years due to the requirement that all men wear kilts and women miniskirts or a mini kilt equivalent. To ensure full guest participation the Bash boasts a Lame Tax. Guests who show up to the event improperly attired (i.e. sans kilt or mini) must choose between paying an additional $60 Lame Tax or purchasing a kilt or miniskirt onsite in order to gain entry.

The Bash is a benefit for 4D Theatrics, Global Music Project and the Northwest Kilt Exchange. General Admission Tickets are $35 per person. The Tartan Feast Package, featuring a three-course dinner timed to the setting sun, is $75 per person. Early Bird discount pricing is available through Monday, March 22nd. Tickets may be purchased online or by check or money order via the mail. For details and payment information visit http://www.kiltandmini.com or call the event hotline at (206) 937-3902.
