Miracle Mile Block Party: Craft and Folk Art Museum, Doublevision Gallery and TarFest Benefit

An evening of art, music and community pride will take place along Wilshire Boulevard in the Miracle Mile District of Los Angeles on Saturday, April 3rd.
(PRWEB) March 20, 2004 --The Miracle Mile Players maintain their community presence in supporting arts and community through TarFest Benefit & Art Show on Saturday April 3 from 5p.m. to midnight. The proceeds benefit TarFest the annual Festival of Film, Music and Art held in October on the Miracle Mile. This second of five benefits leading up to TarFest in October will be at the Miracle Mile Art Salon located at 5828 Wilshire Boulevard (corner of Stanley). The night will feature new paintings from three of Los Angeles’s hottest artists, Steven Janssen, New Works, Ardeshir Tabrizi, Revolution Through Evolution and Andrey Yevdoshchenko, Los Angeles. Program and reception for the art show is free from 5p.m. to 8p.m. Musical guests Constant Flux (Run Recordings, Fluxgruv) with visual artist Yo Suzuki (Cleopatra/Hypnotic Recordings, Lovemushroom), DJ Marc Antonio and Beat Symposium provide live audio and visual stimuli. A $5 donation is suggested after 8p.m. to benefit the Miracle Mile Players and TarFest

The Craft and Folk Art Museum will be open free to the public on Saturday April 3, 2004 from 5p.m – 8p.m. Two of their more popular exhibits: Artists Advertising Themselves: Hand Painted Signs From Ghana and Productos Latinos, Signs Of Our Times: Sign Painters Of Los Angeles continue at 5824 Wilshire Boulevard. .

Admission to Doublevision Gallery and the Craft and Folk Art Museum is free and both venues will be open from 5-8pm. The TarFest Benefit, held at 5828 Wilshire Blvd (corner of Stanley), will be free from 5-8pm during the art show. Live music and DJs will begin at 8 o’clock and continue through midnight. TarFest is a creation of the Miracle Mile Players, Inc., a non-profit, 501(c)3, an arts and business cooperative serving Miracle Mile businesses, residents and institutions. Their goal is to serve as a portal into the weekly events and daily happenings in an artistic, cultural and geographic center of Los Angeles known as the Miracle Mile.
