Washington, DC (PRWEB) March 22, 2004 --The International Organization of Black Information Security Professionals will host a conference entitled INFORMATION SECURITY: What it Means to the "SURVIVAL" of Small Disadvantaged Business on May 9-10, 2004. The event begins with a VIP Business Opportunity Networking Reception on May 9th from 6:30PM until 9:30PM followed by a conference, awards luncheon and hands on workshops on May 10th at the Omni-Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC. It is the FIRST and ONLY Information Security Conference Dedicated to EDUCATING Small, Disadvantaged, Minority and Women Owned Businesses about the significance of Information Security and Homeland Security while also identifying Federal and Corporate procurement opportunities for information security conscious vendors.
Government and Corporate Executives from both the Small and Minority Business Development Community and Information Security Industry will be on hand to discuss new and existing legislation involving Government procurement and contractor requirements for secure information infrastructure and what small businesses can do to develop and maintain a secure computing environment.
The goal of the conference is to help attendees obtain a greater understanding and awareness of information security and how lack of knowledge will affect their procurement opportunities, contract retention and ability to compete with large businesses. This conference will show attendees what it takes to SECURE their infrastructure and KEEP their clients through workshops, lectures and exhibits and certificates of completion for each workshop attended.
