EnCana (U.K.) Limited has chosen CMP as its sole provider of cable gland solutions for the development of the Buzzard field, reportedly the one of the largest discoveries in the UK North Sea in the last fifteen years.
The EnCana Buzzard project team has specified the CMP Triton CDS Cable Gland, with the unique Compensating Displacement Seal (CDS) system for use on the main Process & Utilities, Wellhead and Living Quarters platforms that comprise the development.
Construction of the new platform topsides should commence in 2004 with first oil scheduled for 2006. CMP Products will have their latest Deluge Proof gland used on all topside cabling, and are very pleased that the product has been specified for this prestigious project.
Indications are that Triton CDS will also be specified for many other blue chip contracts in the next few months.
