Google and Yahoo are banning ads from online casinos, reacting to a federal crackdown on internet gambling. Tampa Florida (PRWEB) April 8, 2004 -- In news published by The Associate Press on April 5, 2004 internet advertising giants Google, Yahoo and Msn.com will drop casino ads due to a federal crackdown on internet gambling.
Google expects to drop ALL casino ads by the end of April 2004, and Yahoo will phase out casino ads in the U.S. market, but allow them to continue in 14 other countries where the company operates web sites. Yahoo's decision also affects Microsoft Corp's MSN site, whose search engine depends on a Yahoo subsidiary, Overture Services, for its online casino ads.
