Tonja Walker (the unforgettable Alex of "One Life to Live") is portraying "Guiding Light's" returning character Marie Green.

(PRWEB) April 28, 2004 -- Walker is perhaps best known on television as the woman you love to hate" for her role as Alex Olanov Hesser Buchanan on ABCs "One Life to Live."

Tonja also portrayed the cunning, devious, and terribly evil Olivia Jerome on ABCs General Hospital for three years in the late 1980s, during its reign as the #1 daytime drama on television. She also played Lizbeth Bachman on CBSs "Capitol."

Tonja's flair for the comedic combined with her portrayal of strong, determined women led to her Daytime Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress, and multiple Soap Opera Digest award nominations for Best Villain, Best Comedienne, and Best Scene Stealer for ten consecutive years.

Tonja contributes a lot of her time to various charitable organizations. Some of the organizations in which Tonja is an active participant are: Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, The Actors Fund of America, The American Cinema Awards Foundation, United Cerebral Palsy, The Jewish Federation, The Starlight Foundation, March of Dimes, The Theatre World Awards, The Great Lakes Theatre Festival, The American Cancer Society and The United Way. Tonja participated in Wings Over Wall Street – a charity fundraiser for ALS/Muscular Dystrophy Association. Tonja along with her husband Ed Davidson, formed a charity called Partners for Potential, designed to give full private school scholarships to bright, deserving underprivileged children.

Honored by numerous charitable organizations, Tonja is co-chairman of the Davidson Foundation for Charitable Giving and is on the Board of Directors for the Great Lakes Theatre Festival. She is an honorary board member of the Scarborough House, a recovery facility for women in Cleveland, Ohio and a member of the Womens City Club of Cleveland.
