Cakes Turn Cold Calls into Warm Market

Cakes Across America regularly serves Fortune 500 customers and assists sales and marketing professionals with nationwide promotional events. One innovative company has found the cure for the common cold call with cake deliveries.

(PRWEB) April 30, 2004 -- Most people, even seasoned sales pros, find making cold calls about as much fun as getting punched in the face. However, for some products and services, a cold call is the only way to effectively reach the target market. Or is it?

One innovative company has found the cure for the common cold call with cake deliveries.

MP Contract Flooring, a New Jersey company which provides a variety of flooring materials mainly to the new home construction industry, has cakes delivered through Cakes Across America to prospective customers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland as part of their overall marketing strategy.

The company started with an order for 30 cake deliveries last October and planned to send cakes to new prospects each month. The first months deliveries were so successful, the company postponed the second order until February so they could properly service the current requests. The second order for 56 cakes again had a tremendous response moving the next scheduled order to May so they could put additional infrastructure in place to handle the increased business.

Cakes Across America regularly serves Fortune 500 customers and assists sales and marketing professionals with nationwide promotional events. The company recently expanded its operation in Flagler County, Florida with some help from a group of private angel investors in Jacksonville, Florida.

The company acquired new FrostingArt equipment that prints high-resolution digital images in a four-color process using food coloring as ink on completely edible frosting paper. FrostingArt makes it possible to produce a high quality reproduction of even the most detailed pictures, text, logos and images on cakes.

The company also launched the new design of its web site this month www.cakesacrossamerica.com. FrostingArt images can now be uploaded during the online order process. Other improvements to the site include a one-time registration to maintain order history, a gift reminder service, and the ability to store up to 50 delivery locations. The company still accepts spreadsheets for event day deliveries to more than 50 locations.
