Online Merchants Support Childhood Cancer Research
Online merchants are banding together to raise funds and awareness for CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation. From Mother's Day May 9th to May 15th participating merchants will donate a percentage of their online sales to the foundation.
(PRWEB) May 4, 2004 --For one week in May, a group of online merchants are hoping internet shoppers will put their money where their mouse is and support Clicks For Kids Week, a fundraiser aimed at raising awareness and money to aid in the fight against childhood cancer.
Childhood cancer is the number one lethal childhood disease, claiming the lives of more children than cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies, AIDS, and asthma combined. Clicks For Kids Week is a simple way for online merchants and their customers to support cancer research, as proceeds will go to CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation. Beginning on Mothers Day, May 9th and continuing through Saturday, May 15th, 2004, participating merchants will earmark a percentage of their online sales for donation. Shoppers will be making a contribution simply by purchasing through participating merchants.
Its difficult for any single small business to make a meaningful contribution to charity," says organizer Brett Dewey, owner of pop-culture retailer WickedCoolStuff.com, (www.wickedcoolstuff.com), By combining our strength we hope to really raise funds and awareness in a significant way."
A list of participating merchants is available at Clicks-For-Kids.org and will be updated daily as more sign up in the week leading up to the event.
