Sarah Jay, Managing Editor of Fine Cooking Magazine, has teamed up with Porter Marketing Group, Inc. to develop the U.S. retail distribution of La Barraca Paella Pans from Spain.

(PRWEB) May 11, 2004 --In support of the latest trend in consumption of Foods from Spain, La Barraca Paella Pans will be marketed in the US through specialty housewares retailers with the help of John B. Porter, President of Porter Marketing Group, Inc.

La Barraca Paella Pans have been imported for the past 7 years by Sarah Jay's company, La Paella LLC, and have only been available for sale through a few consumer websites.

John B. Porter found Sarah Jay through his search of paella pans for his other business, Kitch n' Kaffe, a retail kitchenware store located in Mahopac, NY. It turned out that Sarah was based not far from Mahopac and the two met to begin a partnership. John B. Porter is known for successfully developing the national distribution of IF YOU CARE Unbleached Coffee Filters and Baking Paper in 1990. Sarah agreed that with her busy schedule as Managing Editor of Fine Cooking, and bringing up a family, that John was the the right person to develop her distribution.

Sarah Jay, the Managing Editor of Fine Cooking, was trained as a newspaper reporter, earning a Master's Degree in Journalism at Columbia University. She wrote for The New York Times and several other newspapers before joining the staff of Fine Cooking in 1998.

Sarah is also the magazine's Spanish food expert. She has lived in Granada, Salamanca, and Alicante and has been traveling throughout Spain for the last 15 years. Her passion is paella, and she discovered a niche market for paella pans when she and her husband, who is from Madrid, began importing them in 1997.

John B. Porter has been marketing specialty foods and housewares nationally for over 30 years. His most recent venture was acting as a US Trade Advisor for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture & Food for the past 9 years. He currently is developing US distribution for a select number of foreign food processors and housewares manufacturers.
