Alphalogix lowers the total cost of enterprise wide instant messaging deployment with the Versona Instant Messaging System (VIMS)

Alphalogix, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions and services for the connected enterprise, addresses the high cost of enterprise wide instant messaging deployment and management. With this in mind, Alphalogix developed the Versona Instant Messaging System (VIMS) which drastically lowers the cost of deploying and maintaining an instant messaging infrastructure without sacrifice to capabilities or features. This is made possible with the IM client streaming technology used by Alphalogix in the Versona Instant Messaging System.

Orange County, CA (PRWEB) May 18, 2004 -- Alphalogix, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions and services for the connected enterprise, addresses the high cost of enterprise wide instant messaging deployment and management.

The Versona Instant Messaging System completely eliminates the cost of client side deployment. A client simply connects to a web page for initial setup, and the client software is set up automatically using Java Webstart technology from Sun Microsystems. The client side maintenance costs are also eliminated because the client software is automatically updated to the current server version each time the user access the IM system. As a result, all maintenance and updates are done on the server, behind the scenes, and without interruption to an employees work day.

For corporations who plan on implementing an enterprise instant messaging system, a major concern is the complexity and cost of deployment, maintenance and end user support. As an example, with most other IM systems, a firm with hundreds of employees would experience significant costs in loading client-side software manually on each users PC. On a much larger scale, corporations which have thousands of clients, over vast geographic distances have an even larger necessity for centralized server management and streaming client technology. The Versona Instant Messaging System eliminates client software deployment and maintenance costs, because each time the server is upgraded all clients automatically receive the latest version of the client software.

There are many qualities which make the Versona Instant Messaging System the most cost efficient solution tailored to the unique requirements of the connected enterprise. These include:

•Centralized software management and version control: Zero client-side maintenance is required.

•Cross-platform support for Windows, Linux, Macintosh, AIX, UNIX, Solaris, and many other operating systems, allowing companies to communicate between different operating systems, eliminating the need for companies to invest in separate instant messaging systems.

•Capable of interoperating with public instant messaging systems including AOL, MSN, and Yahoo!. Additionally, with add-on modules, VIMS can interoperate with other enterprise instant messaging systems such as IBM – Lotus Sametime, Microsoft Live Communications Server, Jabber, and others.

•Enterprise class security, since all information resides on the server, no valuable corporate data will be transmitted through the internet exposing it to security risks.

•Native LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory integration allows clients to use their standard user names and passwords and facilitates centralized directory control and maintenance.

The Versona Instant Messaging System provides a comprehensive solution to the unique requirements of an enterprise wide instant messaging system. Built to include all the features expected in an enterprise instant messaging solution, the Versona Instant Messaging System is also designed to be extremely easy to deploy and maintain.
