Former Reagan Administration Official Releases Memoirs

WESTERVILLE, Ohio(PRWEB) May 23 2004 --- Dr. William E. Mayer, Former Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs and Assistant United States Surgeon General during the Reagan Administration, will be releasing his memoirs on Memorial Day weekend.

Dr. Mayer's book, entitled Brainwashing, Drunks & Madness: Memoirs of a Medical Icon (ISBN: 0975271199), will be released Memorial Day Weekend by Winterwolf Publishing.

The book, which is mostly autobiographical, also takes an extensive look at the advances and enhancements in the area of medicine, both in the United States Military and in the civilian sector.

Many subjects are covered, ranging from covert operations during the Korean War, evidence of brainwashing by North Korean and Chinese forces, events and advances during the Vietnam War, peacetime re-vamping of the military medical system and general medical preparations and enhancements.

Dr. Mayer also gives an insider's look at the workings of the Reagan Administration as it affected health concerns and preparation in general. Numerous political and medical dignitaries, including Dr. C. Everett Koop and Casper Weinberger have added their comments. The book contains a foreword by General Julius W. Becton, Jr., retired USA, the former head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
