The African Well Fund announces the ‘10 Miles in Her Shoes fundraiser.

The African Well Fund is launching its new grassroots fundraiser 10 miles In Her Shoes" today. Individuals and groups across the country are invited to participate.

(PRWEB) June 6, 2004 -- The African Well Fund is launching its new grassroots fundraiser 10 miles In Her Shoes" today. Individuals and groups across the country are invited to participate.

Everyday in Africa, many people, particularly women, must walk for miles to get water. The chore of fetching water is no small task, it involves walking sometimes up to 10 miles to the nearest water source, and carrying home the heavy containers filled with the days supply of water.

The official launch of the fundraiser is June 5, 2004 and will continue throughout the summer. It is easy to help. Groups such as boys and girls clubs, summer community programs, churches and vacation bible schools can participate by holding penny fundraisers. Individuals can take part by collecting spare change in their home or office.

The goal is to have at least 10 cities participate, with each city raising a miles worth of pennies adding up to a total of 10 miles worth of pennies. Each city that raises one mile of pennies, just $840 (84,480 pennies lined up make a mile), will make a tremendous difference in the lives of many Africans. Please visit our website www.africanwellfund.org or use the contact information above to request more information.

The African Well Fund was founded to focus on one achievable goal: providing access to clean water. 100% of proceeds from the African Well Fund are donated to Africares well building projects in Uganda and Ethiopia. Africare is one of the leading private, non -profit charitable U.S. organizations assisting Africa. For more information please visit www.africare.org.
