(PRWEB) June 6, 2004 -- Rosemarie Rossetti, Ph.D. of Gahanna, Ohio received a proclamation from the Ohio House of Representatives. The Ohio House of Representatives resolution was presented by James McGregor, honoring Rossetti as Ms. Wheelchair Ohio. Rossetti was crowned in March. She will be competing on July 31 in Richmond, VA for the title of Ms. Wheelchair America. Rossetti also received a proclamation from Gahanna city council and Gahanna mayor, Rebecca Stinchcomb.

Known and recognized throughout the area as a determined and outstanding leader, Rossetti is a motivational speaker, trainer, consultant, syndicated columnist, publisher, and author. Her newest publication, Take Back Your Life!", released last fall, is a compilation of her syndicated articles. She established a fund at The Ohio State University for spinal cord injury research and is currently introducing legislation in Ohio that will fund spinal cord injury research. Rossetti sustained a spinal cord injury as a result of being crushed by a 3 ½ ton falling tree while riding her bicycle in June of 1998.

As an active advocate for the disabled, Rossetti has been a mentor for paralyzed women. Rossetti shares her philosophy, I strive to offer my wisdom and inspiration to others so that they too will believe that the impossible just might be possible." Her goals are to bring out the best in people and demonstrate how to live life with conviction."
As Ms. Wheelchair Ohio, Rossetti is charged with a continuing effort to educate the public regarding the dignity, productiveness and basic value of people with disabilities. She assumes responsibility for the ongoing effort to eliminate the architectural and attitudinal barriers that prevent people with disabilities from assuming their rightful place in society.
