Ismaili Run for Charity

Established in 1985, The Ismaili 10K Run for Charity was launched by the Ismaili Muslim Youth to commemorate the United Nations Year of the Youth. The objective was to organize an event which would have a positive impact on society. Nineteen years later, the run has grown into an annual event that far exceeds the original vision. Through the efforts of the youth, it has become a leading supporter of a number of charities. Charities supported in the past include The North York General Hospital, The United Way of Greater Toronto, The World Wildlife Fund and The Canadian Women’s Foundation.

The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation.

The Hospital for Sick Children’s mission is to continuously improve the health of children everywhere, sharing experience and knowledge on children’s health with families and health care practitioners around the world. Since 1875, The Hospital for Sick Children has contributed to countless advances in children’s health, and the lives of millions of children have been improved profoundly. From the development of Pablum in 1930 to the identification of a gene that is important in the initiation of mudulloblastoma, the most common cancerous brain tumour found in children, The Hospital for Sick Children is at the leading-edge of pediatric research.
