London, England (PRWEB) June 21, 2004 -- Stardaq, the internet's first real money celebrity trading futures exchange today opened for a six–week pre-registration period with a range of special offers for new exchange traders.

Stardaq's unique person-to-person exchange will offer internet traders the first opportunity to trade a range of financial futures contracts dependent on underlying celebrity equity prices powered by the internets leading news aggregator, Moreover (moreover.com).

All traders joining the exchange prior to the official opening date of 2nd August 2004 will be offered a 50% reduction on all transaction fees for the first 12 months, with the first 100 registered traders being offers a full 100% discount on transaction fees for 12 months.

Person-to-Person exchange trading has grown rapidly in the past 12 months with further deregulation likely to lead to further explosive growth. Online celebrity trading games have proven extremely popular, however their non-open methods of calculating prices prevents them from being able to offer a real market that can be trusted and traded in real terms.

Stardaq's unique usage of Moreover's news ci-metabase, accessing over 4,500 news sources and powering the world's foremost news sites like Yahoo.com, provides an independent and transparent underlying market that has facilitated the creation of a real financial market in celebrity.

"The Stardaq futures exchange has created a new and real financial instrument in celebrities that will enable contracts in a vast range of celebrity and newsworthy individuals to be traded online in the same way as pork bellies and gold futures." Stardaq program director Chad Noble said today. "We are extremely excited about the exchange opening and hope that many traders will visit and join the exchange to familiarize themselves with the underlying market and range of futures contracts on offer before our official opening on 2nd August."

Focusing initially on binary contracts and with a minimum contract size of just one dollar, the exchange has been especially designed to cater for both novice and experienced traders.

"Celebrity trading is no longer a game, but a real financial market. This would not have been possible without access to the integrity and popular usage of Moreover's ci-metabase, a new aggregator powering some of the world's largest news feeds. This database enables Stardaq to scan for hundreds of celebrity names in thousands of news articles every few minutes to create a fluid and independent market.

For less than the price of a lottery ticket, Stardaq traders will be able to participate in this new and exciting real market in celebrities. Many tens of thousands of people have become experienced in trading in some of the large online trading games, but now for the first time, real traders will be offered the opportunity to take part in this popular market.

We will be offering many different types of contract from basic single celebrity closes, to spread contracts of one celebrity over another known as Stardaq Duel Spreads (e.g. George Bush versus Osama Bin Laden or Zinedine Zidane versus David Beckham) to contracts on the Stardaq 100, the index of the top 100 celebrities. With celebrities graded and ranked from A-List to Z-List based on their appearances in the news online, the indices will be reviewed and reconstituted every 3 months in a similar way to other popular equity indices like the FTSE 100. Stardaq is bringing innovation to the financial markets with this new and exciting exchange."
